Shot across all five boroughs in the summer of 2013, Blocks dialogues with the grit and legacy of the New York school of street photography. Captured on a Mamiya 6 using expired 120 bw film, the series utilizes the square format to extract a brutalist geometry from the city’s entropic energy. The chemical decay of the expired emulsion mirrors the atmospheric grain of the street, distilling the New York landscape into a high-contrast study of shadow, form, and structural rhythm.
